A number of vacancies exist on the FAS managed Community Employment Scheme at Lifford Athletic Club. Currently,
we have two gym assistants and one general worker that provide critical support to the daily running and upkeep of the athletic
club gym and grounds.
Our caretaker, Noel Gillespie, and our gym assistant, Katrina McCosker will leave this year. Over the past number
of years, they have provided valuable support and help to the club and while we will miss them at the club, we wish them
well in their future employment.
FAS have advertised both the caretaker and gym assistant vacancies, with the new scheme due to commence on the 5th
October. With our new track planned for early Spring, both positions will be vitally important for the future development
of the club. We would encourage applications from anyone associated with the club or gym i.e. parents, members, former
members, or anyone that will have a passion for making both positions work for the benefit of Lifford AC. Our club is
also committed to providing and supporting the best possible training opportunities for scheme participants.
Generally, applicants need to be in receipt of a social welfare payment e.g. unemployment assistance, family support,
disability payment etc for one year. However, the Lifford-Clonleigh Resource Centre will confirm the eligibility of
all applicants with FAS. For further information on the positions, please contact Brendan O'Donnell (Lifford AC) on
086-6007847.
