Today, the club travelled to Carndonagh for the third round of the Sportshall Team Competition.  With a number of athletes short on both of our underage teams, the sixteen athletes that travelled doubled up in a number of events and relays with all acquitting themselves exceptionally well.  This was also an opportunity for a few of our younger athletes to experience Sportshall competition for the first time. 

The athletes that competed were Ryan Bradley, Ciaran McBrearty, Katie Anderson, Niamh Lynch, Nikita Mitchell, Sara Martin, Megan Hannigan, Zara Russell, Amy Stewart, Conor Lynch, Nicole Martin, Catlin Dolan, Rachel Mitchell, James Russell, Rory McCafferty and Oran Brown. 

All athletes combined individual performances in the chest push, speed bounce and standing long jump, with team performances in the three and six person relays.  Club coaches can see improvements each time these young athletes compete showing they are learning and developing all the time.  Thanks to coaches Sinead Stewart, Viola Mc Laughlin and Brendan O’Donnell for travelling with the athletes.

The last Sportshall competition of the season will be held in Donegal Town on Saturday 31^st January 2009.
